William J. “Bill” Jenko age 93 a lifelong resident of Export died Monday, August 15, 2016 in Forbes Hospital, Monroeville. He was born December 4, 1922 in Export a son of the late Joseph and Josephine (Jeriniovich) Jenko. Bill was a retired Quality Control Inspector for Bettis Atomic Power Laboratory and the former Westinghouse Electric Co., E. Pittsburgh. He was a World War II Army Air Corps veteran and a member of the Export American Legion Post 858. Bill was a member of St. Mary Catholic Church, Export where he attended Mass his entire life and was a member of the Knights of Columbus Manordale Valley Council 4226. He was passionate about his deep faith and enjoyed spending time with his family and fellow parishioners. Bill will be remembered as a good, kind, compassionate and dedicated family man who enjoyed rooting for the Pittsburgh Steelers. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by siblings; Josephine (Bill) Kratofil, Helen (Joe) Valencic, Tillie (John) Georgvich, Walter (Marguerite) Jenko and Ralph (Marge) Jenko. Surviving are his beloved wife Elizabeth “Betty” (Jurkiewicz) Jenko and his loving daughter Joy Jenko Merusi and her husband Ken Merusi of Ligonier. Also survived by nieces and nephews. Friends welcome Wednesday from 2-4 & 6-8 p.m. at the Wolfe-von Geis Funeral Home, Inc., 5701 Lincoln Ave., Export (724) 327-1400 . A funeral Mass will be celebrated Thursday at 11:00 a.m. in St. Mary Church. Interment will follow in Grandview Cemetery, Export with military honors accorded by the Greensburg V.F.W.
