Thomas G. Shontz

Thomas G. Shontz age 74 of Penn Hills, died Monday, December 6, 2021. He was born May 10, 1947 in Pittsburgh a son of the late William and Blanche (McKecknie) Shontz. Tom was a retired Systems Analyst for DSSC Solutions and was a dedicated and patriotic U.S. Navy veteran, having served as a mechanic on the USS York Town during the Vietnam War. Tom was an avid train enthusiast who enjoyed photography, traveling, spending time with his grandchildren and he had a tremendous sense of humor. In addition to his parents, Tom was preceded in death by his beloved wife Carole L. (Hillman Jacobs) Shontz. Surviving are his loving children; John (Kirsten) Shontz of Elizabethtown; a daughter, Lisa (Bill) Emmett of Knoxville, TN; step children, Tricia Geppert of Penn Hills, Gina (Tony) Tiani of Plum Borough and Suzin (Mike) Stophel of Export. Also survived by 12 grandchildren and 6 great grandchildren. Friends and family welcome Friday from 3 p.m. until time of services at 7 p.m.at the Wolfe-von Geis Funeral Home, Inc., 5701 Lincoln Ave., Export. Interment will be private.
