Rosina “Rose” (Vecchio) Mediate, 92 of Export, died peacefully at home on Saturday, January 11, 2025. She was born September 19, 1932 in Nocera Terinese, Calabria, Italy. Rose was the daughter of the late Francesco Vecchio and Maria (Manfredi) Vecchio. Beloved wife of Louis Mediate for 66 years; mother of Frank Mediate of Export, sister of Louis Vecchio of Pitcairn and Honey “Gina” Vecchio of Pitcarin. Also survived by nieces, nephews and friends. In addition to her parents, Rose was preceded in death by brothers; Ortenzio “Artie” Vecchio and Orelio “Rollo” Vecchio and a sister, Elvira “Vera” (Vecchio) Drzewinski.. Rose worked for many years at Murrysville Shop’ n’ Save and was a member of St. Mary Catholic Church, Export. She will be deeply missed by family and friends. All are welcome Tuesday, January 14 from 2-8 p.m. at the Wolfe-von Geis Funeral Home, Inc., 5701 Lincoln Ave., Export (724) 327-1400. A funeral Mass will be celebrated on Wednesday, January 15 at 10 a.m. in St. Mary Church, Export. Interment will follow in Grandview Cemetery, Export.
