Rose M. (Kemerer) Smith

Rose M. (Kemerer) Smith, 81 of Export was called home by the Lord on Wednesday, October 5, 2016 at her home with her loving family at her side. Born and raised in Export she was a daughter of the late Ira E. Kemerer and Catherine (Sherrow) Kemerer. In addition to her parents, Rose was preceded in death by a brother Richard E. Kemerer and a sister Darlene (LeCuyer) Bowers. Rose is survived by her husband of 63 years Willard H. Smith and her sons Robert H. (Betty Jean) and Wayne (Natalie) and her grandsons Jake, Josh, Joel Smith and Richard and Todd (Chrissy) Weimer, and her great granddaughters Marissa, Tehlor and Brynlee Weimer. Also surviving are her sister in-law Beverly Kemerer and brother in-law Larry Bowers and her special lifelong friend Shirley Kemerer and many nieces and nephews. Rose was a lifelong member of Emmanuel Reformed United Church of Christ of the UCC (Hills Church) where she found great serenity tending to the flowers and gardens. She served on the consistory and was a Deacon there for many years. Her greatest pride was her sons Bob and Wayne and the love of her family and many friends. Rose found great joy and peace in nature. She loved working with flowers and enjoying the woodland animals that visited her feeders. The family would like to thank the Allegheny Health Network Healthcare at the Home Hospice Caregivers, especially Melissa her nurse and Karen her aide who showed Rose love and compassion in her final hours. Family and friend welcome Friday from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. at the Wolfe-von Geis Funeral Home, Inc., 5701 Lincoln Ave., Export (724) 327-1400 where services will be held Saturday at 11:00 a.m. with The Reverend Meredith Hutchinson officiating.
