Robert Parks Toolin, affectionately known as "Tools," 68, passed away Friday, Jan. 19, 2018. He was taken suddenly in the midst of a life devoted to enriching the spirits of those closest to him. He was born Dec. 8, 1949, the son of Parks "Rusty" Toolin and Helen (Fritchman) Toolin, Tools grew up in Forest Hills, where he attended Churchill High School and continued his education at Indiana University of Pennsylvania. After graduation, Tools made some of his favorite memories while trekking across the US with his best friend, Tom Schwartz, and finding the love his life, the late Beth "Bamie" (Mather) Toolin. The happy couple built a home and business, Regional Bath Repair LLC, together in Delmont, where they raised their two surviving daughters, Maggie Mather Toolin Cummins and Allison Parks Avila. A loving father, grandfather, brother and friend, Tools is also survived by two beautiful grandchildren, Eva and Bobby Avila, with Baby Cummins due at the end of February. He will also be dearly missed by his sisters, Jeri Cohn and Gayle Toolin; his brother, Jack Toolin; his sons-in-law, Chris Cummins and Waldo Avila; and his amazing neighbors. A memorial service will be held at 10 a.m. Saturday, Jan. 27 at Newlonsburg Presbyterian Church in Murrysville. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Salvation Army, a charity that Tools avidly supported.
