Robert A. "Bob" Cargnel

Robert A. “Bob” Cargnel of White Valley passed peacefully into Eternal Life on Friday, March 13, 2015. Bob was born on May 17, 1934, son of the late Gardano and Catherine (Lovato) Cargnel. He was a lifetime member of St. Mary our Lady of Lourdes parish in Export. Bob proudly served in the National Guard and worked in research for 43 years at ALCOA until his retirement in 1996. After retirement, Bob volunteered for Meals on Wheels and was very active in his church. He was a member of the White Valley Athletic and Social Club where he enjoyed sharing time with his friends. He also enjoyed camping for many years with his family, golfing, hunting, fishing, gardening and bowling. Bob was the proud father of Jeff (Tina) Cargnel, Karen (Bill) Gaydosh, Judy (Eric) Truscott, and Kathleen Cargnel. He was a loving wonderful grandfather to Abby and Ben Cargnel, Amy and Julianne Gaydosh, Claire and Emma Truscott. He is survived by his devoted wife of 50 years, Kathryn (Woatich) Cargnel. He is also survived by his brother Dennis (Barbara) Cargnel, a sister-in-law, two brothers-in-law, cherishes nieces, nephews and friends. Friends will be received at the Wolfe-von Geis Funeral Home, Inc., 5701 Lincoln Ave., Export (724) 327-1400 on Sunday from 2:00 p.m. to 4 p.m. and 6:00 p.m. and 8:00 p.m. and Monday from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. (No visitation Monday afternoon.) A funeral Mass will be celebrated Tuesday at 11:00 a.m. in St. John Baptist de la Salle Church, Delmont with Father Joseph Bonafed as celebrant. Interment will follow in Twin Valley Memorial Park, Delmont. In lieu of flowers the family is requesting contributions be sent to Bob’s Church, St. Mary our Lady of Lourdes or St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital.
