Paul E. von Geis, Jr.

Paul E. von Geis, Jr. age 74 of Delmont died unexpectedly on September 5, 2021 at his home. He was born August 1, 1947 in Pittsburgh, a son of the late Paul E. Sr., and Mary Jane (Dickey) von Geis. Paul was a United States Army veteran, having served during the Vietnam War. He was a graduate of IUP and Duquesne Law School. He began his career as a Police Officer with the Wilkinsburg Police force in 1970. After graduating from Law School, he worked as Assistant District Attorney for Allegheny County in 1979. Paul later became Deputy Attorney General for the Common Wealth of Pennsylvania and retired as Senior Deputy Attorney General in 2011. He enjoyed traveling and was an Indy Car fanatic, attending races all over the United States and abroad. He will be remembered for his generosity and as a loving father who adored his grandchildren. He will be sorely missed by all who knew and loved him. In addition to his parents, Paul was preceded in death by his first wife Margaret “Peggy” (Busch) von Geis and a son Paul E. von Geis, III and a brother James von Geis. Surviving are his wife Karen Emings; daughters, Peggy (Jeff) Popovich, Lisa (John) Patak and Tina (Dave) Roberts, 6 Grandchildren; siblings Ann (Michael) Albosta, Michael (Linda) von Geis, Thomas von Geis and Peter (Amy) von Geis. Also survived by several nieces, great nieces and nephews and cousins.
