Paul P. Skandera age 91 of Export died Thursday, March 5, 2015 at UPMC East, Monroeville. He was born August 18, 1923 in White Valley a son of the late Paul and Ann (Kapera) Skandera. Paul was employed as a plumber for many years before his retirement from Air-Tek in Irwin. He enjoyed swimming, walking and gardening and helping others with various tasks and chores. Paul was a United States Army veteran having serves during World War II and was a member of St. Mary Church, Export. In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by his beloved wife Esther (Biesuz) Skandera; a brother Edward Skandera and a sister Katherine Bush. Surviving is her loving children Paulette Jackson of Penn Hills and Denise O’Brien of Greensburg; cherished grandchildren Michael Jackson of Churchill and Camille O’Brien of Greensburg; dear great grandson Chase Jackson devoted brother Joseph (Evelyn) Skandera of Export and his best buddy Carl R. Christian. Also several nieces, nephews, great nieces and great nephews. Friends will be received at the Wolfe-von Geis Funeral Home, Inc., 5701 Lincoln Ave., Export (724) 327-1400 Sunday from 2:00 p.m. to 4 p.m. and 6:00 p.m. and 8:00 p.m. where services will be held Monday at 11:00 a.m. with Father Joseph Bonafed officiating. Interment will follow in Grandview Cemetery, Export with military honors accorded by the Greensburg V.F.W. Post #33 Honor Guard.
