Martha V. (Sands) Kane

Martha V. Kane age 68 of Murrysville died Monday, September 13, 2021 in Forbes Hospital, Monroeville. She was born July 19, 1953 in New Kensington a daughter of the late Paul E. and Emma E. (Fritz) Sands. Martha was a homemaker who enjoyed, reading, writing poetry, going to the beach and Lighthouses; but most of all she enjoyed spending time with family, especially her adored grandchildren. In addition to her parents; she was preceded in death by 2 sisters, Louise Sands and Lois Shaler. Surviving are her loving children; Nancy Kane of Aiken, SC, Stephen (Candice) Kane of Murrysville, Michael Kane and Matthew Kane both of Ticonderoga, NY; former husband Gerald Kane; cherished grandchildren, Tyrone, Abigail, Alisa, Caleb and Samuel Kane; 2 sisters, Mary Anne and Mia Sands. Family and friends welcome Thursday from 2-4 p.m. at the Wolfe-von Geis Funeral Home, Inc., 5701 Lincoln Ave., Export (724) 327-1400. A graveside service will be held Friday at 10:00 a.m. in Twin Valley Memorial Park, Delmont. In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made in Martha’s name to the Apollo area Meals on Wheels.
