Mark Joseph Drutch, a devoted husband, father, brother, grandfather, and friend, passed away on December 23, 2025, after a courageous battle with cancer, surrounded by love. He was born on February 20, 1957.
Mark was a man who found joy in the simple things in life—sports, a cold beer, good conversation, and time spent with the people he loved most. He believed deeply in kindness, gratitude, and showing up for others without judgment. His steady presence and quiet generosity left a lasting impression on everyone who knew him.
Mark was a steadfast partner to his wife, Valarie Simon Drutch. Their marriage was built on loyalty, commitment, and standing by one another through life’s challenges, a bond that remained constant and enduring.
A deeply devoted father to his twin daughters, Joan Drutch-Pohlot and Monica Drutch-Pelkofer, Mark spent his life ensuring his family was cared for. He gave selflessly and without recognition, offering patience, understanding, and a rare ability to forgive freely. One of his most enduring lessons—often repeated and always lived—was simply to do your best, a message that will continue to guide his family every day.
Mark was a proud grandfather who adored his grandchildren, Mia Pohlot, Briella Pohlot, and Colin Pelkofer. He cherished time spent with them and found immense joy in watching his family grow.
He is survived by his wife, Valarie Simon Drutch; his daughter Joan Drutch-Pohlot and her husband Mike Pohlot; his daughter Monica Drutch-Pelkofer and her husband Corey Pelkofer; his grandchildren Mia, Briella, and Colin; his brother Gary Drutch and wife Patricia; and many extended family members and friends.
Mark was preceded in death by his parents, Joseph and Mildred Drutch.
Though our hearts are broken, we are profoundly grateful for the life Mark lived and the love he gave so freely. His legacy lives on in the kindness he showed, the lessons he taught, and in the simple, powerful reminder he left behind: do your best.
Friends and family are welcome from 2-4 & 6-8 p.m. on Monday, December 29, 2025 at the Wolfe-von Geis Funeral Home, Inc., Export. A funeral Mass will be celebrated at 10 a.m. Tuesday, December 30, 2025 in Mother of Sorrows Catholic Church, Murrysville.
