Larry “Ed” Duff, aged 82, died February 15, 2023. He was born on August 5, 1940 and lived his entire life in Export, PA. He served honorably in the Army National Guard, then worked as a salesman at Duff Tire Service where he knew everyone in town and used to say “He bought tires from us.” In 1972, he transitioned to driving a tractor trailer as an owner-operator until his retirement in 2001. He drove over three million miles across the country.
He cherished his family and is survived by his beloved wife Carol, of 61 years. He has three children: Colleen and her husband Jeff, Larry and his wife Dawn, Tim and his wife Christine. He has five grandchildren: Thomas, Theresa, Zach, Jessy and Josh, as well as a great grand-daughter Layla. The apple of his eye is his beloved German Shepherd Annie. He was predeceased by his older brothers: James “Art” Duff, Jr. and Paul “Bobby” Duff. He is survived by his sister, Martha O’Lear and her husband Jim, and nephews and nieces. We are especially thankful to his nephew Scott Duff for his loving care over the years.
Ed was a lifelong Steelers fan who had season tickets with his friends from Export. He enjoyed spending time with his family, walking his dog, traveling the country in his camper, and serving as a member of Salem Lutheran Church in Delmont, PA. Ed was a man of deep and abiding faith.
The family is grateful to Dr. Muthappan of Export, the cancer center at Pittsburgh Allegheny Hospital, the staff at Forbes Hospital in Monroeville, and Pastor Kara Propst.
There will be a private interment at Grandview Cemetery in Export.
