John “Booby” Vunovich, age 96 of Delmont, died March 12, 2025 in Forbes Hospital, Monroeville. He was born December 2, 1928 in Ringertown, a son of the late Bozo and Pearl (Mahinski) Vunovich. Booby was a member of St. Mary Church, Export and was a proud Korean War Army Veteran. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife Martha; children; John V. Vunovich, Jacquelyn “Jackie” Nokovich and David Harris, 2 great granddaughters; Miranda Collins and Abigale Engler-Nokovick, siblings; Martin Vunovich, Joseph Jarnot and Mary Durandetto. Surviving are his son in-law; Nick Nokovich, daughter in-law; Cindy Vunovich and former daughter in-law, Janie Powers. Also survived by 6 grandchildren, 9 great grandchildren and many nieces and nephews. Friends and family are welcome on Monday, March 17, 2025 from 2-4 & 6-8 at the Wolfe-von Geis funeral Home, Inc., 5701 Lincoln Ave., Export (724) 327-1400. A funeral Mass will be celebrated Tuesday, March 18, 2025 at 11:30 a.m. in St. Mary Catholic Church, Export. Interment will follow with military honors in Grandview Cemetery, Export.
