John W. Britz age 79 of Washington Township, went to be with the Lord on Tuesday, February 3, 2026 at his home. He was preceded in death by his parents, Walter and Clara (Mattei) Britz. John was an avid motorcyclist. He started riding in 1968 and in 1970 he and a friend rode to California on a 350 Honda. After that, the bikes got bigger and the trips more frequent. After marriage, John and his wife Karen, also an avid motorcyclist, traveled extensively, and in 1986 rode their Honda Gold Wing on a 11,500-mile trip to Alaska. John had ridden his Honda in all 50 states.
In 1989, John and his wife began Follow the son Ministries, an evangelistic ministry oriented toward motorcycles. He has street-evangelized at all the major rallies; Bike Week and Biketoberfest in Daytona, Fl, Americade in Lake George, NY; and the big rally in Sturgis, SD; as well as local rallies. His Honda Gold Wing “The Bible Bike” was airbrushed with 16 major scenes from the Bible. John always made available Pocket New Testaments and other literature free to all. After his retirement as a certified tool and die maker from the Elliott Company in Jeannette, John devoted full time to his ministry. In 2000 he became ordained as a Pastor through Living Faith Ministries, Inc.
Surviving is his loving family; sister, Mary Jo Bulebush, Nephew, Wil Korach, sister in-law Mary Korach and a great niece, Willow Korach.
In addition to his parents, John was preceded in death by his beloved wife of 49 years, Karen (Korach) Britz and brother in-law William “Bud” Korach.
Friends and family will be received Friday February 6, 2026 from 5-8 p.m. at the Wolfe-von Geis Funeral Home, Inc., Export (724) 327-1400.
Services will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday February 7, 2026 in the chapel of Twin Valley Memorial Park, Delmont.
