JoAnne Visnic Obituary

JoAnne “Jojo” Visnic, age 83 of Export, unexpectedly passed into the arms of our Lord on Sunday, August 8, 2021, with her loving family by her side. She was born on December 10, 1937 in Pittsburgh, PA, the daughter of the late John “Bus” and Bessie (McClatchey) Raymond. In addition to her parents, Jojo was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Daniel G. Visnic, Jr. She is survived by her loving daughters, Dana Visnic-Ford (Tim) and Holly Visnic Pelusi (Jeff), her loving sister, Kathy Frechione (John), the lights of her life and beloved grandchildren, Jordan, Joshua, and Chase Pelusi; and John, Tim, and Grace Ford, cherished nieces and nephews Mark Frechione Totten (Daniel), John Michael Frechione (Danielle), Mark Visnic, Sharon Shivetts, Chris Visnic (Joanna), Brian Visnic, and Barry Visnic, as well as many beloved cousins and treasured friends who were family-her caretakers Blaine and Cathy Jacoby. She will be profoundly missed by all of her family and friends and especially by her dog JJ, who was her constant snuggling companion. Jojo was a devoted, loyal, and unconditionally loving Mom, Mother-in-law, Sister, Aunt, Glammy Gram, Friend, and avid animal lover. She made everyone she knew and met feel special and important.  She loved her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ and her grandchildren were her world. She lived for and was determined to attended their activities and endeavors no matter the physical difficulties. Being with her family meant everything to her. She loved her friends and amazing caretakers who she considered friends. Jojo also enjoyed happy hours, dining out, traveling, her home, fashion, decorating, beauty treatments, her wine, martinis, and sweets, her dog, adventures with Melissa and Sundays with Marci. She was a long-time member of Emmanuel Lutheran Church where she brought her family, sang in the choir, served as the church secretary for many years, acted in church plays, and participated in many other activities. She also enjoyed other varied careers, including positions at the Elliot Company, in the Washington D.C. office of Congressman Dent, as Medical Secretary for Dr. Scott Williams, and at ViP Insurance Housing Options. Friends and family are welcome Thursday from 2-4 & 6-8 p.m. at the Wolfe-von Geis Funeral Home, Inc., 5701 Lincoln Ave., Export, PA 15632; (724) 327-1400. Services will be held Friday at noon in Emmanuel Lutheran Church, 5000 Old William Penn Hwy., Export, PA. Interment will follow in Grandview Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made in Jojo’s name to the Emmanuel Lutheran Church, Franklin Regional Unified Sports, or to a local pet charity of your choice.
