JoAnn Katherine (Arrundale) Hengstenberg

JoAnn K. Hengstenberg, age 79 of Irwin, formerly of Manor, passed away peacefully into the arms of our Lord, surrounded by her loving family on Thursday, September 29, 2022. She was born September 5, 1943 in Pittsburgh, a daughter of the late William and Marcedes Arrundale.

JoAnn was a bartender most of her life and her customers became family. She retired from Norwin Elks to tend to her grandchildren. She took in anyone who needed a place to stay or live and her passion was her 3 grandchildren.

In addition to her parents, JoAnn was preceded in death by an infant grandson, Evan Williams. She is survived by her loving family; son, Richard Turner of Irwin, “bonus” son, Murry Kaufman of Alaska; daughter Toni Williams and her husband Gary of Boquet; grandmother “Guggi” to Derrik Turner of Trafford, Cassandra Williams and Nicholas Williams of Jeannette; Great grandmother to Adrianna Turner of Jeannette; God mother to Melissa Gill, Michelle Curry and Holly Ferencuha; friend of 46 years to Marcy Miller. Special thanks to the nurses and aides at Murrysville Care & Rehabilitation Center. Friends and family will be received at the Wolfe-von Geis Funeral Home, Inc., 5701 Lincoln Ave., Export (724) 327-1400 on Sunday from 4-8 p.m. where services will be held Monday at 11 a.m. Interment will follow in Woodlawn Cemetery, Export.
