Jennie A. Gillis, 94, formerly of Delmont, most recently a resident at Redstone Highlands, Greensburg, passed away on Tuesday, February 21, 2017. Born March 18, 1922 in Export, PA, she was the daughter of the late Louis D. and Anna (Spincic) Turack. She was preceded in death by her loving husband Edward S. Gillis and infant twins Donald and Darlene. Jennie was the youngest of 10 children, 5 brothers and 4 sisters, all deceased. She is survived by her 3 children; two sons, Edward D. (Cathy) of Franklin Park; Terry D. (Beth) of Valencia; and daughter Cheryl A. (Dave) Higinbotham of Greensburg. Her grandchildren are Brian (Loni) Gillis, Jason (Angie) Gillis, Kim (Jeff) Welk, Mark Gillis, Eric (Megan) Gillis, Keith Gillis, Scott (Karen) Gillis, Greg (Rachel) Gillis, Emily (Brian) Ondras, Melissa (Peter) Courson and Christopher Gillis; and step grandchildren David (Danette) Higinbotham, Mark Higinbotham, Traci DeMichele and Jeffrey (Jasmine) Higinbotham. Additionally, she has 12 great grandchildren and 11 step great grandchildren, one step great great granddaughter, many nieces and nephews. She belonged to St. Mary's Catholic Church, Export, St. Mary's Altar Rosary Society, McKenna Senior Center, Greensburg and CFU Lodge, Pittsburgh. Donations can be made to St. Mary's Catholic Church, Export or Redstone Highlands Benevolent Care, Greensburg. Viewing will be held at the Wolfe-von Geis Funeral Home, Inc., 5701 Lincoln Ave., Export on Thursday, February 23 from 2-8 p.m. Mass of Christian Burial will be held at St. Mary's Church, Export on Friday, February 24 at 11 a.m. with visitation from 10 a.m. until parting prayers at 10:30 a.m. Interment will follow in Twin Valley Memorial Park, Delmont.
