Jean Ventura Obituary

Jean "Jeanne" Ventura, 84, of Export, passed away on February 28, 2025, at Forbes Hospital in Monroeville. She was born on February 6, 1941, in Export, PA, to the late Celestenio and Edith (DeNastasio) Ventura.

After graduating from high school she attended Robert Morris University before beginning a fulfilling career as an Administrative Assistant. She first worked at the U.S. Pentagon in the Naval Department and later at Westinghouse in Monroeville, where she remained until her retirement.

In retirement, Jeanne devoted her time to volunteering at Friends Thrift Shop in Export, traveling the world, and cherishing time with her family. Known as “Gigi” to her many nieces and nephews, she found great joy in being part of their lives. In her later years, she was a devoted caregiver and companion to her sister, Helen Meehan, until Helen’s passing in 2023.

Jeanne is survived by her sister, Lola Wulchin, and her brother, Charles (Rita) Ventura. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her brother Hector (Connie) Ventura and sister Helen (Ray) Meehan. She was lovingly surrounded by many nieces, nephews, great-nieces, and great-nephews who adored her and will deeply miss her.

In 1970, Jeanne gave birth to a son, Andrew Barth, whom she lovingly placed for adoption. In 2018, through Catholic Charities, she was reunited with Andrew, and they formed a beautiful and meaningful relationship. She is survived by Andrew, his wife Stacie, and their three children, Nathaniel, Madison, and Mya, all of whom brought her great joy.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Jeanne’s memory to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital or Feed The Hungry.

A celebration of Jeanne’s life will be held on March 22, 2025 from 12:00 PM to 3:00 PM at the Italian American Club in Export, PA.
