Age 94, passed away on April 1, 2025. Jim was a proud Air Force veteran and served in the Korean War as a Staff Sergegant and later a foreman for U.S. Steel.
A beloved family man, he also enjoyed friendships at numerous social clubs. Known for his kindness, humor, strength and generosity, his greatest pride was his family.
Survived by his wife Patricia: children, James (Bonnie) Houy, Jeff (Lori) Houy; stepchildren, Misti (David) McMahon and Donald Boytim; grandchildren, Elizabeth,
Rebecca (Nick) Holmes, Sarah Grace, Geoffrey, Jared, Gabe; and a sister Mary Lou Bernhardy. Preceded in death by his siblings, Betty Zapko, Kenny and Patrick. Family and friends will gather to celebrate the life of Jim from 11a.m. until the hour of service at 12 p.m., on Friday, April 11, 2025, at Murrysville Community Church, 3750 School Road, Murrysville, PA 15668. In lieu of flowers,
contributions can be made to assist with Jim;s medical expenses.
