Helen (Ventura) Meehan, age 94 of Export, died peacefully, on Sunday, January 1, 2023, at her home surrounded by loved ones. She was born May 24, 1928 in Export, a daughter of the late Celestenio and Edith (DeNastasio) Ventura. Helen graduated from the Mercy School of Nursing and worked for many years at Mercy Hospital in Pittsburgh, and was a home health care nurse in the Hill District. After her retirement, Helen spent time volunteering at the AIDS Task Force of Greater Pittsburgh and the Blackburn Center in Greensburg. She was a member of St. Marys Church, Export and enjoyed spending time with her family and cooking delicious meals for family and friends. In addition to her parents, Helen was preceded in death by her beloved husband B. Raymond “Ray” Meehan and sibling; Hector Ventura. Surviving are her loving children; Michael (Marianne) Meehan of Verona, David Meehan of Sanford, FL, Monica Meehan (Andy Salo) of Export, Paul Meehan of Lake Mary, FL and Maryellen Meehan (Shep Joseph) of Allison Park, 11 adored grandchildren, 2 cherished great grandchildren; devoted siblings; Lola Wulchin, Charles “Chubby” (Rita) Ventura and Jeanne Ventura. Also, sister-in-laws; Connie Ventura and Margie Ventura, and many nieces and nephews. Friends and family will be welcomed on Friday, January 6, 2023, from 2:00 - 8:00 p.m. at the Wolfe-von Geis Funeral Home, Inc., 5701 Lincoln Ave., Export (724) 327-1400. A funeral Mass will be celebrated on Saturday, January 7, 2023 at 9:00 a.m. in St Marys Church, Export. Interment will follow in Grandview Cemetery, Export.
