Helen G. Jelochen 98 of White Valley died Friday, January 27, 2017 in William Penn Care Center. She was born April 12, 1918 in White Valley, a daughter of the late Simon and Mary Galicic. She was employed by A & P for 23 years as a cahier. After retiring she kept busy with her gardens. Her greatest joy was spending time with and caring for her grandsons, who were her pride and joy. She was very proud of her Slovenian heritage. Polka dancing was something she enjoyed her entire life. She was a member of St. Mary Catholic Church, Export; Alter Rosary Society, White Valley AMVETS Auxiliary, SNPJ Lodge 41 and the AFU Lodge 222. Helen was preceded in death by her husband Frank E. Jelochen, sister Mary E. O’Block and brothers Charles, William, Frank and Vincent. She is survived by a daughter Jean (William) Gillis of Export and a son William (Karen) Jelochen of Pinehurst NC; grandsons Scott (Lauren) and Bret; great grandsons Jason and Heath; brother in-law Paul J. O’Block and many nieces and nephews. Visitation will be 2-6 Tuesday at the Wolfe-von Geis Funeral Home, Inc., 5701 Lincoln Ave., Export (724) 327-1400. A funeral Mass will be celebrated Wednesday at 11:00 a.m. at St. Mary Church, Export. Interment will follow in Twin Valley Memorial Park, Delmont.
