Harold B. “Sonny” Hudson, age 79, passed away on Sunday, March 24, 2024. He was born on April 2, 1944 to the late Harold and Louise Hudson. He was a veteran of the US Army and retired Chief of Police for Bessemer and Lake Erie Railroad and Union Railroad. Sonny is survived by his wife of 55 years, Helen (McMuldren) Hudson. A loving father to his 2 children, Dan (Jen) Hudson of Williamsburg, and Heidi Hudson of Penn Township. His 6 grandchildren, Daniel, Cameron, Benjamin (Megan), Michael, Morgan, and Maddie, were all his pride and joy and up until his last moments, you could find Sonny bragging about their many accomplishments.
In addition to his parents, Sonny was preceded in death by his 2 sisters, Mary McKay and Mimi Thompson, and a brother-in-law, Daniel McMuldren and his wife, Lorraine. Sonny also leaves behind his loving sister, Jean Masco, his very special nieces and nephew, Lori, Michelle, and Dylan, as well as numerous special cousins, nieces, and nephews.
Sonny was a proud member of the Westmoreland County Law Enforcement Officers Association, Fraternal Order of Police Pittsburgh Lodge #1, and International Association Chiefs of Police.
Family and friends are welcome on Monday, April 1, 2024, from 6-8pm, at Wolfe von Geis Funeral Home, 5701 Lincoln Ave, Export, PA 15632. There will be a visitation on Tuesday, April 2, 2024, from 10-11am followed by a service at 11:15, at the funeral home. Interment will be private. In lieu of flowers, the family has asked for dontations to be made in Sonny’s honor to Carson’s Hope, 100 Lukovich Rd, Jeannette, PA 15644, www.carsonshope.org/donate.
