Geraldine E. “Gerry” Shafer age 84 of Delmont died January 19, 2017. She was born June 23, 1932 in McKeesport a daughter of the late James and Florence (Finch) Karnes. Gerry was a 50 year member of Orient #35 Order of the Eastern Star and White Shrine. She was a tour guide “Gerry’s Dear Ones” for many years. Gerry enjoyed Traveling, dancing and playing cards. In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by a son; Ronald Shafer. Surviving are her children Walter “Wally” Shafer, Sr. and his wife Susan of Deerfield Beach, FL and John “Jack” Shafer of Monterey, TN; Grandchildren, Walter Shafer, Jr., Lorie Shafer, Amanda Robin, Craig Shafer and a daughter in-law Carol Shafer. Also survived by 6 great grandchildren. Dear friend of Martha O’Lear and her husband James of Delmont. Respecting Gerry’s wishes services and interment will be private.
