Donna Yoder, 83, Walden’s View resident, formerly of Monroeville PA, passed away on March 23, 2026 surrounded by family after a long and courageous battle with Alzheimer’s.
Donna was born on October 2, 1942, in Beaver, Pennsylvania, to David Phillips and Patricia McCary. She grew up in the Lawrenceville and Wilkinsburg neighborhoods of Pennsylvania, where she laid the foundation for a life defined by care, creativity, and service to others. Donna attended the Pittsburgh Beauty Academy and went on to build a fulfilling career as a talented hairdresser, working for many years at Flanagan’s in Blawnox and later at JCPenney in Monroeville.
Above all else, Donna was a devoted and loving mother, grandmother, mother‑in‑law, sister, aunt, wife, and friend. She had a deep love for nature and was an avid gardener, finding beauty, peace, and solace in tending to her gardens. Her faith was central to her life, and she attended and volunteered at Christ’s Lutheran Church in Murrysville, where she was known for her compassionate heart, bubbly personality, and generous, giving spirit.
Donna was cherished for her sunny disposition, gentle nature, and heart of gold. Her laughter and warmth could brighten anyone’s day, and she lived selflessly, always putting her family first. With a wonderful sense of humor and a kindness that extended to everyone she met, Donna touched countless lives. She enjoyed gardening, taking walks, reading, and crocheting hats for cancer patients at the Hillman Cancer center—acts that reflected her deep empathy and care for others. Donna found her greatest joy in her family, especially her beloved grandchildren, on whom she left an indelible and lasting mark.
Donna was preceded in death by her loving husband Robert Yoder and her brother Dennis Phillips. She survived by Her children, Lorraine Sieg (Freddie), Anthony Tiani (Gina) and Dennis Krek (Tashena), Grandchildren Kenny, Amanda, Travis, Haley, Madison, Aidan, Devin, Zaira Stepchildren, Robert Yoder (Kelly) and Jeffrey Yoder (Erica), Grandchildren Justin, Jeremy, Courtney, Becky and Bethany. She is also survived by Her brother Roger Phillips (Sharon) of Utah and her sister Sandra Sauers of Florida along with many nieces, nephews and great grandchildren.
A private graveside service will be held on March 31, 2026 at 11:00am at Christ’s Lutheran Cemetery on Hankey Church Rd, Murrysville, PA. Wolfe-von Geis Funeral Home, Inc., Export is entrusted with funeral arrangements.
