David J. Jones, III

David J. Jones, III age 80 of Export died Sunday, March 14, 2021. He was born April 16, 1940 a son of the late David J., Jr. and Marie M. (Nebel) Jones. Dave was a retired machinist for the former Advance Metalurgy, Inc. Co. and was a United States Navy Veteran who enjoyed hunting and golfing. He was a former member of the Irwin Methodist Church, the Irwin Male Choir and the Shidle Masonic lodge #601 Irwin. Dave was a jack of all trades and could repair just about anything. He is survived by his beloved wife of 60 years to Jacqueline “Jackie” (Doire) Jones; loving father of Dawn Marie (Luke) Riley, Joy Lynn (James) Wyler and Trina Lorraine (Stephen) Gongaware; devoted grandfather of Derek Jones, Katelyn Wyler, Luke Riley and Brock Gongaware; brother of Gary Jones and Donna Beech. Friends and family welcome Wednesday from 2-4 & 6-8 p.m.at the Wolfe-von Geis Funeral Home, Inc. 5701 Lincoln Ave., Export (724) 327-1400 where services will be held Thursday at 11 a.m. Interment will follow with military honors accorded by the Greensburg V.F.W Post 33 Honor Guard in Penn Lincoln Memorial Park, N. Huntingdon. CDC recommendations must be adhered to. The family suggests memorial contributions to Alzheimer’s Disease research.
