Charles "George" Mayer, Sr.

George Mayer, 94, passed away on Tuesday, March 14, 2023. He was born on November 18, 1928 to the late Frank and Magdalena (Kuntner) in White Valley, PA. He is survived by his children, Charles Jr., Danny and wife, Nancy, and Christine Bertolina (Mayer); his step-daughter Lynn (Tom) Givens; and his 8 grandchildren, Theodore (Melissa), Melissa (William), Kelly (Brandon), Ashley (Deryck), Jennifer (Jon), Dane, Billy, and Daniel. He is also survived by 19 great-grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews. In addition to his parents, George was preceded in death by his daughter, Veronica Reed, 5 sisters, 6 brothers and longtime partner, Dolores “Dee” Backes.

George was friends with everyone he met. He enjoyed spending his time working around the house and listening to his favorite polkas and dancing along.

Friends and family welcome Friday, March 17, 2023 from 2-4pm and 6-8pm at the Wolfe-von Geis Funeral Home, Inc., Export, PA, where services will be held Saturday, March 18, 2023 at 11am.
