Betty Rose Ayers, of Export PA, was a caring wife, mother, grandmother, sister, and
friend to many. At age 90, she passed away peacefully; surrounded by her loving family on
Friday, June 28th, 2024.
She was born to the late William and Sarah Gipson on November 13th, 1933. After
graduating high school in 1951, she married the late Leonard George Ayers Jr. and together
they had seven children. Along with her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by
her brother, William Grant Gipson Jr., her only son, Keith Eugene Ayers, and her grandson,
Nathan William Kleyn.
Betty was a devoted mother and is survived by her six daughters: Sandra [Harold]
Robbe, Vicky [Richard] Yeager, Barbara [Scott] Latherow, Luann [David] Morgan, Diann [Chris]
Morian, and Nikki [Gregory] Thatcher, as well as as her 19 grandchildren and 19 great
grandchildren.
Betty will be remembered adoringly by her family for her rich faith, her many talents, her
drive to help those in need, and her unceasing willingness to lend a listening ear to anyone that
might have needed it. Betty’s wishes were to have a private service with her immediate family;
they ask for your prayers. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Westmoreland Food
Bank or the American Heart Association. Respecting Betty’s request services and interment will be private. Wolfe-von Geis Funeral Home, Inc., Export is entrusted to funeral arrangements. To leave online condolences, please visit www.wolfe-vongeis.com
