Ann Visnick reposed in the Lord on Saturday, January 2, 2021 in her 100th year. She was surrounded by her family and parish priest who prayed together and reminisced about all of the happy times in her life. She was born in Trafford, PA on May 24, 1921 to Radovan and Simica Mikasinovic, immigrants from Eastern Europe. She was predeceased by her parents, siblings, husband Nick "Casey" Visnick, and daughter Mira Visnick Bryant.
Her eldest brother, Ljuban Mikasinovic, underwent a name change by his first grade teacher, who called him Hubert Mixinotch. From then on, the family became known as the Mixinotches. Her brothers were Ljuban "Hubert", Dragan "Charles," Petar "Peter," and Milan "Miller." Her sisters were Dragica "Dorothy" and Milica "Millie."
Ann and her family were faithful and devoted members of St. Nicholas Serbian Orthodox Church, established in Wilmerding and later moved to Monroeville. She was active in one of the church women's groups and established the Export Circle of Serbian Sisters, in which she served as president for 39 years.
Ann ran her family's trucking business and later their bar in Trafford before her marriage to Nick "Casey" Visnick in 1946. Ann loved to cook and opened a catering business to serve banquets for all occasions. She hired her friends as her business and reputation grew, and her husband was her right hand who assisted her any way she needed. Her entrepreneurial spirit was uncommon for a woman in her day.
She proudly and lovingly raised her son and daughter. She cultivated many friendships during her long life and was loved by so many. Her kind and generous nature was extended to everyone she knew and met.
She leaves behind her son Melvin "Milan" Visnick and his wife Joyce and granddaughters Katie (Scott) Vallina and Natalie (Dimitri) Karanikolidakis. Many nieces, nephews, kumovi, and precious friends also mourn her passing.
