Michael E. Snyder, 81, of White Valley, passed away unexpectedly Tuesday, Nov. 28, 2017, at his home. Surviving are his loving wife of 55 years, Marge (Holodnik) Snyder; son, David Snyder, of State College, and his fiancee Jamie; and daughter, Diane Snyder, of White Valley. Also surviving are his brother, James Snyder, of Irwin; sisters, June Long, of California, Marilynn Scholler, of Delmont, and Natalie (Jon) Gilmore, of Harrison City; and his four cherished grandchildren, Erik, Kyle, Tyler and Maddie Snyder, all of State College. Mike was an active member of St. Mary's Catholic Church and a devoted Catholic. He was a veteran, having served in the Army. He was also an avid sportsman who enjoyed hunting, fly fishing and spending time outdoors. He will be dearly missed. Friends are welcome from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Friday, Dec. 1, at WOLFE-VON GEIS FUNERAL HOME in Export. A funeral Mass will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday, Dec. 2, at St. Mary's Church in Export. Interment will follow at Twin Valley Memorial Park, Delmont. Military honors will be provided by Greensburg VFW Post 33.
