Helen A. (Mika) Lucas

Helen A.  (Mika) Lucas age 92 of Export died June 1, 2017 in William Penn Care Center, Penn Township. She was born June 14, 1924 in Export a daughter of the late Thomas and Katherine (Bush) Mika. Helen was a member of St. Mary Church, Export where she served as President of the Altar Rosary Society and  was a member of the Oracles. Helen also served as judge of elections for Export, Borough. She played for the Export Women’s Soft Ball League where she was affectionately known as “Skipper”. Helen enjoyed playing bingo and baking. In addition to her parents, Helen was preceded in death by her beloved husband Charles C. Lucas; 5 brothers Joseph, Alex, Stanley, Eddie and Frank Mika and 2 sisters; Frances Persin and Agnes Murray. Surviving are her loving children; Charles M.  (Joyce) Lucas, Sr. and  Cindy (Richard) “Ace” Stepnick all of Export; 4 cherished grandchildren, Tracy Fowler, Jennifer Balest, Chuck Lucas and Lisa Stepnick;  a brother Tom Mika and a sister Sally Hohman; a sister in-law Diane Mika. Also survived by 9 Great Grandchildren and many nieces and nephews. Friends welcome Saturday and Sunday from 2-4 & 6-8 p.m. at the Wolfe-von Geis Funeral Home, Inc., 5701 Lincoln Ave., Export (724) 327-1400. A funeral Mass will be celebrated Monday at 11:00 a.m. in St. Mary Church, Export with Father Joseph Bonafed as celebrant. Interment will follow in Grandview Cemetery, Export.
