Elizabeth "Betty" (Jurkiewicz) Jenko

Elizabeth “Betty” Jenko age 89 of Export died peacefully on Thursday, July 13, 2017. She was born January 12, 1928 in Export a daughter of the late Peter and Julia (Karp) Jurkiewicz. Betty was a member of St. Mary Catholic Church in Export and operated Betty’s Beauty Salon also Export for many years. She will be remembered as a graceful, loving person who had a strong faith and a peaceful countenance who lived a simple but lovely life. In addition to her parents Betty was preceded in death by her beloved husband William J. “Bill” Jenko and siblings; Peter, John, Verna, Laura, Helen Paul, Mary, Genevieve and Edward Jurkiewicz. She is survived by her cherished daughter Joy Merusi and her husband Ken of Ligonier and a sister Irene Person. Also survived by many loving nieces and nephews. Friends welcome Sunday from 2-4 & 6-8 p.m. at the Wolfe-von Geis Funeral Home, Inc., 5701 Lincoln Ave., Export (724) 327-1400. A funeral Mass will be celebrated Monday at 11:00 a.m. in St. Mary Church, Export with Father Efren Ambre as celebrant. Interment will follow in Grandview Cemetery, Export.
