Edward R. Geiger Sr., 91, of Export, died unexpectedly Thursday, Nov. 8, 2018, in UPMC Presbyterian, Pittsburgh. He was born Oct. 26, 1927, in Export, a son of the late William Russell Geiger and Clara (Remaley) Geiger. Ed was a member of Delmont Presbyterian Church and was employed by the former McCoy Bus Lines in Delmont, and later retired from the Port Authority Transit as a mechanic/body man in 1999. He enjoyed traveling the world with his wife. He also spent two weeks every summer at Fenwick Island with his family and had lots of fond memories at the camp on the Allegheny River. Some of Ed's hobbies were tinkering with cars and mowing grass on the family farm but most of all, he enjoyed spending time with his family and his dogs. In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by a brother, Col. Vincent Geiger. He will be sorely missed by his wife of 68 years and the love of his life, Helen (Borland) Geiger; a daughter, Gwenn Weiss, of North Huntingdon; sons, Ed Geiger Jr. of Export, and twin sons David and Doug Geiger, of Export; grandchildren, Courtney Geiger, Megan Geiger, Zach Weiss and Raissa (Jake) Moore; great-grandchildren, Vincent and Natalie Moore; a brother, Lou Geiger; and numerous nieces and nephews. Friends welcome from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Sunday at the WOLFE-VON GEIS FUNERAL HOME INC., 5701 Lincoln Ave., Export, 724-327-1400, where services will be held at 11 a.m. Monday.
