The following are support services available in the community to help you cope with the journey through grief. Sharing your thoughts and feelings with others during your difficult time is easier than doing it alone. People are joined together by support groups in the journey of grief.


Bereavement Support Group at Newlonsburg Presbyterian Church
4600 Old William Penn Highway, Murrysville. Individuals who have lost a loved one and those going through the grieving process are welcome to attend. The group meets the first Sunday of each month from 9:45 to 10:45 a.m. in the room off the gym, which is located in the wing to the left of the sanctuary. Catholic Charities
Greensburg Diocese, counseling on a one-to-one basis and Bereavement Groups are available. 724-837-1840. Fees are based on income and size of family.


Jeannette Hospital
All About Health, Support Groups for anyone who is grieving. Rev. Robert Marks is the facilitator. Call for times and dates at 724-836-8373. No Fee.


The Caring Place
A Center for Grieving Children, Adolescents and Their Families. 888-224-HOPE (4673). No Fee.


The Compassionate Friends
A self-help support group that help bereaved parents, siblings, and grandparents grieving the death of a child of any age, 724-850-2957. No Fee.


Theos, They Help Each Other Spiritually
Murrysville Methodist Church, 3916 Old William Penn Hwy., Murrysville. Any age widow and widowers. The group meets every fourth Tuesday of every month at 7:30p.m. at Murrysville Methodist Church. For further information, call Shirley McIntire at 327-0471. No fee.


Westmoreland Hospice
Support Groups for adults who lost a loved one regardless of the relationship. Contact Fred Wineman at 724-850-2966. No fee.


Young Widow/Widower Support Group
This is a special group for young widows and widowers between the ages of 20 to 45. The group meets the second Thursday of every month from 7:00 to 9:00p.m. at Forbes Regional Hospital. 2580 Haymaker Road, Monroeville, PA.
